Turn Over the Bottom Card
Before performing, secretly turn the bottom card face up.
Keep the rest of the deck face down.

Offer a Free Choice
Fan the deck and invite the spectator to choose any card.
Keep the reversed bottom card hidden as you spread the cards.
The selection is genuinely free.
Have the Card Remembered
Ask the spectator to memorize the card.
Turn your head away or look elsewhere to make the choice feel fair.
Secretly Turn Over the Deck
Square the cards and casually turn the entire deck over.
Because the bottom card was already reversed, the deck now appears normal from the spectator’s viewpoint.
They do not realise that the main packet is now upside down.
Return the Selection
Invite the spectator to insert their card anywhere in the deck.
Their card goes in face down relative to them, but face up relative to the secretly reversed packet.
Find the Only Face-Up Card
Spread the cards toward yourself without showing the faces to the spectator.
Their chosen card will be the only face-up card in the middle of the deck.
In the example shown, the selected card is the five of diamonds.
Why the Trick Works
The reversed bottom card disguises the fact that the entire deck is turned over.
When the spectator returns their card, it ends up facing the opposite direction from every other card.
You simply look for the single reversed card.

Keep the deck turnover casual and motivated by squaring the cards.
Do not stare at your hands during the secret move.
